PropPro v1.30

Revision History

PropPro enhances the usefulness of the NCDXF/IARU International Beacon Network (IBN) by providing a visual palette for displaying beacon data. Even though each beacon broadcasts in morse code, no morse code ability is required. Since each beacon broadcasts on a specific schedule, PropPro will tell you which beacon you are hearing and allow you to assess the condition of it's signal. You simply listen, click the appropriate button and within 3 minutes you will have a visual representation of propagation conditions worldwide for the band in question.

Since timing is so critical, PropPro allows you to run NISTIME to synchronize your PC clock with one of the atomic clock servers operated by the National Institute of Standards. NISTIME is the public domain atomic clock client created by the NIS. Synchronizing your PC clock to NIS time assures that you know what beacon you are monitoring.

Among PropPro's many features are:

  • true 32-bit application
  • ability to synchronize PC clock with NIS atomic clock servers
  • beacon maps for 10, 12, 15, 17 and 20 meter bands
  • bearing and distance from your QTH to the beacon displayed automatically (short and long paths)
  • links to valuable HF propagation and space weather web-based resources
  • local and UTC (Universal Coordinated Time) clocks
  • complete help file
